School's Out!

Whew! Dallin finished 3rd grade and we finally have A LOT more free time on our hands.
This picture is of Dallin eating breakfast on a school morning. I wanted to capture this pose, because he ALWAYS sits like this! When he was younger, I would sit on his bed and read books to him and I would look up and find him perched on the corner of his tall dresser just like this. He's like a little bird :)

This picture is from the Arizona Natural History Museum. The 3rd graders at his school took a field trip here in May. I chaperoned this group of boys that day.
They have a panning for gold exhibit that Dallin loved. Here he's showing me a fleck of fool's gold that he found.
He is still a little boy in so many ways. He loved doing all of the activities at the museum. So cute!

Then we went camping one weekend with my brother's family. His son has a small dirt bike that they brought with them. The poor guy hardly got to ride his own bike because Dallin hogged it the whole time! Dallin was completely obsessed and rode around and around our campsite for 2 days straight.
We finally talked him into giving rides, and then he very generously let the other kids (who owned the bike) take 5 minute turns riding it.

All 3 of Dallin's siblings and 2 cousins have their birthdays in the same week during May. One cousin invited us to Amazing Jake's to celebrate. They had so much fun you would have thought they were at Disneyland. They had bumper cars, laser tag and a rock climbing wall along with rides and arcade games.
This is Dallin making his way to the top.
In other news, we got a dog named Reeces! He is a Chihuahua/terrier mix. The kids love him...and the dog loves ME. You can hardly blame the poor thing. He weighs about 10 pounds and the kids pick him up and carry him everywhere. They play with him non-stop, so he runs to me for protection.
